AP1240 AG- radio1 cannot associate; no response- What is the issue associated with this error?

HARDWARE/ISSUE: AIRONET AP1240 which has a 2.4 GHz/ 5 GHz radios and is configured to be used as a access point for radio0 and non-root bridge for radio1 using Right instead of Diversity as its primary connections for the radios, but it would not allow our PDA systems to connect to the internet.

Troubleshooting: We've checked the IOS, configuration, and its security configurations and none of these configurations have changed from when dot11 radio1 was still working. We checked the radio channel and the AP is set to a specific radio channel that would not interfere with the rest of the AP's within its group. We checked all physical hardware(cables and antennas) attached to the AP and nothing seems to have changed. After going through these steps, We replugged it and we were still unable to connect to the internet.

What could be the problem when we receive this message in the event log? Dot11 radio1 cannot associate; no response.Below is the IP Interface

IP interface:

Interface IP-Address OK? Method Status Protocol
BVI1 10.120.220.74 YES NVRAM up up

Dot11Radio0 unassigned YES NVRAM up up
Dot11Radio1 unassigned YES NVRAM reset down
FastEthernet0 unassigned YES NVRAM up down

Try reloading the AP and do a "sh log". This will tell you why Radio1 is on "reset".Radio1 can't "see" the other Radio root-bridge. Maybe there's not enough signal (because you are using 802.11b). Switch the configuration around, meaning Radio0 is the non-root-bridge and Radio1 is the access-point. Make sure you switch the remote side too.

Radio1 is 802.11a and Radio0 is 802.11b. In the wireless LAN world, 802.11b or "b" is well known for it's range and penetrating power in the expense of speed. 802.11a or "a" is the direct opposite: Short range, low penetrating power but high speed.

If you don't want to switch the configs, then try moving the AP closer.
