Steps for migration
- Upgrade BE to 7.1.2. Then, using the hardware replacement guide for UCM and Unity Connection, build a new UCM publisher and Unity Cxn both w/ the IP address of the current server. Then do a disaster backup of UCM and Unity and restore them to their respective servers. Do this will be on a separate network of course.
- Change the IP addresses of Unity Cxn and UCM Publisher for their new segment.
- Install the servers in their new location and swing DHCP to the new cluster.
- Wait for a few days for the system to stabilize. Re-install the current UCMBE server as subscriber 1 in the new cluster and shift the phones accordingly.
Please note that you will not be able to restore data back onto the CM and CX server separately. When you run DRS on the CUCMBE, it will spit out files which will be used by both CM and CX.
You can reuse the 7828 server for the Unified CM. It will support 1000 phones.
